However, as a general guideline, she suggests that it may take about six to eight weeks of consistent engagement in a new workout routine to notice visible changes.

For newcomers to exercise, visible results can appear in as little as a week. According to Sebastien Lagree of Lagree Fitness, if the workout is effective, the body should start adapting right away, with noticeable results within the first five sessions. On the other hand, individuals who have maintained a good level of fitness over a long period may take longer to observe changes.

While this might not translate to immediate fat loss, feeling less bloated and inflamed can serve as a strong motivator to stick to a new fitness regimen.

If you’re not experiencing any post-workout soreness, it could indicate that your exercise intensity needs a boost in order to make significant changes in your body composition. According to Lagree, experiencing shaking, sweating, and muscle fatigue during a workout are positive signs, with noticeable differences even after the first session.

McCullough echoes the importance of workout intensity when aiming for overall fitness improvement. In instances where post-exercise soreness is absent, increasing the resistance or repetitions may be necessary to fully challenge the muscles. However, it’s crucial not to overexert yourself. Rest days are just as vital as workout days, as the body undergoes positive transformations while muscles repair and recover between sessions.
