Tracy Anderson is the OG fitness influencer. A pioneer in the studio workout space, Anderson is known for creating the Tracy Anderson Method, a technique that counts Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie, Victoria Beckham, and Sienna Miller among its followers. Anderson now runs six studios in the United States—along with an outpost in Madrid, Spain and a personal training team in London—and has over 375,000 followers on Instagram.

Her latest project with Westin Hotels & Resorts will bring that signature workout to even more women (and guys!) across the country, including The Westin Austin Downtown on August 25. To celebrate the partnership, Anderson shared with us her go-to workout and nutrition plan, plus some insight into how she keeps inspired to stay fit.

Personal motto: Keep it moving.

Success is: Never giving up on what drives you.

I keep healthy while traveling by: Maintaining a healthy diet and sticking to my fitness routine. I pack healthy snacks ahead of time so that I’m never, ever left to eat the junk in front of me if I get hungry. I pack go-macro bars, Matt’s Munchies and anything that tastes good and gives me energy while traveling. Traveling can also be stressful so I try to stay places where I am able to get in a good workout and unwind. This summer I am actually sharing my “stay healthy while traveling” routine to other travelers. Alongside Westin and goop, we are bringing travelers G. Sport Sessions which will be bespoke fitness experiences in Chicago and Austin.

I wish I could tell my 20-year-old self: Just because you’re saying something on the inside or with a quiet voice, doesn’t mean you’re going to get heard. Speak up, speak clearly, and if you’re not getting heard, fix the voice in you that’s broken or find people that will hear you for the right reasons. Become a better verbal communicator—don’t stay trapped inside yourself.

My least favorite workout move is: Overhead power lifts with heavy weights. You seriously risk injuring your back.

My secret to getting your heart-rate up during any exercise is: Perform. Get your head in the game. Give a damn.

The biggest risk I’ve taken that actually paid off: Most of my risks that have failed me were believing in other people. The biggest risk that actually paid off was believing in myself.

I’m most proud of: Never quitting and never giving up.

My most used emoji is: The “laughing so hard I’m crying” face.

I wake up at: Usually 7 am. Except I woke up at 5 am this morning.

My morning ritual involves: Getting my daughter up and ready for the day. I meditate on the day and think about my sequence I will be creating for the day, my music, my playlist. I don’t usually shower first thing in the morning, so I just wash my face, brush my teeth, and then grab my go-to coffee with steamed whole milk. My brain doesn’t function properly without it.

My go-to breakfast is: Coffee with steamed whole milk and I love and egg sandwich- eggs, arugula, aioli, and cheese on an English muffin.

Favorite healthy snack is: Dark chocolate.

I find healthy recipes by: Usually looking in books, but most of the time, I make up simple recipes or rely on healthy restaurants and grocery stores to help me out.

Three things I always have in my fridge are: Chocolate, water, and eggs.

My weekly workout routine involves: Teaching classes every day, but sometimes I take Sundays off to spend time with my kids.

My favorite fitness apps are: Sorry to disappoint, but the only apps I have are Instagram, Uber, a kid meditation app, and Dr. Panda.

My go-to workout songs right now are: Basically everything off of the SUPERFLY movie soundtrack.
