I have had back pain for many years now, and it flat out sucks.
After hearing about the numerous benefits of yoga for a long time, I decided to start practicing yoga every other day.
It’s been 5 months since I’ve started, at the time of this writing, and I can say without a doubt that deciding to start yoga was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
I’m certainly a lot more flexible now than I ever was and I recover fast from my lifting workouts.
In fact, I’ve begun implementing yoga into my strength training routine recently and I don’t get any aches and pains that often anymore.
Now and then, I’ll start to feel a lot of discomfort in my back.
I created the following routine to combat this discomfort.
Here’s a video showing off my entire yoga sequence:
The 13 poses that are mentioned in the video above are:
- Back bend
- Side Bend (Both Sides)
- Forward Fold
- Cow Pose
- Cat Pose
- Downward Facing Dog
- Upward Facing Dog
- Bow or Camel Pose (Choose the Bow pose if you have severe lower back issues)
- Spinal Twist (Both Sides)
- Child’s Pose
- Child’s Pose Twist (Both Sides)
